There’s been a lot of hype around smoothie bowls recently and I just had to see for myself what it was all about. My husband and I were out walking around the city and
came across Cali Love – a restaurant with a gorgeous interior and healthy organic options. We had to try their smoothie bowls and, HOLY MOLY they were delicious!
It was like, the name suggests, having a smoothie in a bowl plus all the fun and yummy toppings! The weekend after, or rather a few weekends after, I tried to making it at home and it was just as delicious. I am definitely going to be trying other recipes and of course, I will be sharing those as well. For now, let’s start with this one, shall we?!
INGREDIENTS
- 1½ cup frozen mango chunks
- ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
- ½ banana
- 1 cup water or coconut water
Toppings
- ½ cup mango and pineapple chunks
- ½ cup blueberries
- ¼ cup coconut flakes
- ¼ cup homemade granola
- Bananas
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add the coconut water, then fruit into a blender or food processor. Blend on high for one minute, until thick and creamy consistency.
- Pour into a bowl and add your toppings.
Enjoy!
My favorite thing about smoothie bowls is that they’re delicious, fun, easy to make and digest… bonus – No guilty feelings after – they’re super healthy!
