Talk Thirty to me

Happy 30 to me!! Yaaay

I have changed the format of this post quite a few times but I think I am happy with how it turned out. Initially, I was going to share 30 lessons I have learnt in my thirty years in bullet points, which is what a lot of people do, however, after noting down a few points, trying to remember the rest was becoming too much as I had to really scratch my brain.

Instead, what I did was, share the points in a way as though I was talking to myself so you notice a lot of ‘you’ … I wanted to keep the post very raw and honest that is why I left it as is. I hope you guys enjoy and can relate to at least one point. Be sure to let me know your thoughts!

Let’s do this!

Loving yourself is the best and most important thing you can do for yourself. If you do not love and respect yourself, you will become a door mat.

Be kind to yourself – don’t compare yourself to someone else’s success. Their journey is different from yours, you’re creating your own unique journey, accept it and be patient because things will work out for you when they are meant to.

Positive Criticism is the only kind of criticism you will take. Everything else can “go in one ear and out the other”. People are quick to judge, their opinions don’t always matter.

Be proud and confident, you are smarter than the credit you give yourself.

If you want something, work hard for it, otherwise don’t expect it to fall in your lap .

Use your energy wisely and give time to people who actually matter. The ones who stand by you no matter what, the ones who genuinely love, appreciate, care and respect you are the ones you should be spen your time and energy on.

Don’t get too attached to your friends, you never know who will decide to leave.

As I grew, I learnt that I am an Ambivert, that makes me love myself even more!

Just like how you value each relationship differently, other people do the same. You might not be someones favorite and that is okay. Not agreeing with you POV or beliefs does not mean they are bad, it just means they are different.

Love and embrace your imperfections.

Stop over thinking every scenario, you’re tiring your brain. Let things be how they are.

Trust God. His way is always the best way.

You do things differently than everyone else – There is nothing wrong with that. Just makes you unique.

I hope you enjoyed my little handy dandy life lessons and that at least one point spoke to you!! Thank you for taking the time in reading this post. I would love to hear your thoughts and feel free to share some of your life lessons
