Before I get started, I just want to put it out there that I am fairly new to skin care and that I only recently started taking an increased interest towards it. My skin care has always been very simple, I think it still is.
I have combination type of skin; some parts of my face are dry and the others are oily. While I’m still on the search for my ‘perfect skin care routine’, I thought of sharing my current one. Having heard such great things about The Ordinary products, price and product wise, I thought of giving it a try and sharing my honest opinion. Do you guys use any of their products? Let me know.
PS: I do not talk about the products I use to cleanse or exfoliate my face with here, but do let me know if you’d be interested in a full skin care routine. I’d be more than happy to share.
Toner: Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
This toner gently exfoliates your skin, (so probably not the best idea to use everyday), I use it every other night, and every time I do, I notice a difference in my skin. In fact, my husband, just this morning, complimented on how clean and bright my skin looked! It evens out my texture and helps with dullness! I pour some on a cotton pad and apply it all over my face after cleansing it.
Hydration: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
After washing and toning my face, I drop some of the Hyaluronic acid on my palm and apply it all over my face and neck, especially on the dryer areas of my face as this is supposed to help with dryness. My skin feels happy, plump and tight after a few weeks of application. It is a little sticky once applied but it dries pretty quickly and you don’t notice the stickiness anymore. I use it during the day and at night.
Face Oil: 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
Why Rose-hip oil? because it helps fight age spots, wrinkles, and lightens marks and scars. I’m usually afraid of using heavy moisturizers or face oils because I break out, but I find that applying this every other night instead every night works well for me. On the nights I use the oil, I do not apply any other moisturizers.
And there you have it! A very simple skin care routine. My skin is constantly changing but I find that products that help with hydration, anti-aging, exfoliating and moisturizing work best for me.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to share some of your favorite products – I would love to check them out and try them too if they seem fitting for my skin
