Homemade Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

If I spend one more $5 bill at Starbucks, I’ll be broke! (Okay, calm down, not literally) but seriously. To begin with, I am already obsessed with their cold brew, and NOW, their PUMPKIN CREAM COLD BREW!!!! Ohh my! It’s so good!

This year, when the beautiful season of Fall fell upon us, and all the pumpkins were out, I learned that Starbucks offers a fabulous drink called – Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. (Apparently, it was introduced on their menu last year? I have no idea but either way.. It’s new to me and it’s stolen my heart- dramatic much?! smh). The coffee addict in me danced with excitement and yes, you guessed it right, I tried it, and let me just tell you, I fell in love and did my happy dance in the car the whole way home!!

Okay, let’s get serious. As much as I love cold brews and now the pumpkin cream cold brew, I can’t justify spending $5 per tall cup so instead I decided to give it a try at home. If I am going to be totally honest here, I will admit, it doesn’t taste exactly like Starbucks’, however, it does the job at satisfying my cravings…on a budget!! Oh yeah!

You will need to prepare the cold brew ahead of time. I have posted the recipe for that here. {Just a heads up, it takes 24hrs to brew}. You could technically run to the store and buy the cold brew but I meannn, isn’t homemade always better tasting?!

What you will need to make the pumpkin cream:

  • 1 cup half and half (or regular milk)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice (Nutmeg, cinnamon, all-spice & ginger powder)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

How to make it:

  • You will need around 8oz of cold brew – Recipe here

First make the pumpkin Cream:

  • In a sauce pan, combine cream (or milk), sugar, pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice. Bring to a slight simmer but don’t boil it
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla extract
  • Strain through a mesh strainer and transfer to a clean jar. You can store this in the fridge

Make pumpkin cream cold brew:

  • Add ice to your cup, cold brew per serving and lastly pour in the pumpkin cream you made earlier. Pour in as much a you like and enjoy!
  • Optional – You could dust some pumpkin spice on top
