Hi Everyone!
It’s been a while since I last shared my nighttime skincare routine. I don’t usually share too much about skincare but since I have recently developed a nighttime routine that actually works for me, I thought I’d share it with you guys.
The list includes both, high-end and drugstore products, so it’s a good balance. I hope this helps!
Also before we get into it, I’d just like to mention that I am no skincare expert, I’m just sharing the products I have been using and loving okay? okay. Also, this post contains affiliate links, by using these links I make a small commission which helps me and is at no extra cost to you.
Step 1: Remove makeup
Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm
You guys, this product is AMAZING! The balm is and relatively inexpensive! A win-win for all!
It’s an oil-based balm and thanks to its purifying blends of Eucalyptus, jojoba & clove, it smells so soothing. It literally melts just as you massage it onto your skin! On the days I have makeup on, I always start by using this product to remove all the makeup and then continue on to my cleanser because I like to double cleanse, especially on the days I have a full face on.
Alternatively, I have also the Clinique cleansing balm and highly recommend it as a close second.
Step 2: Cleanse
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser
A dime size of this stuff is literally all you need to be able to cleanse your whole face…(talk about long-lasting)… my skin loves this stuff! It’s so gentle yet does a great job at leaving your skin feeling clean and not over-dried. One of its main ingredients is Avocado oil which is great because it helps restore the natural moisture of the skin.
Once my face is washed, I move on to either a toner or retinol, depending on what I used the previous night. I do not use them both together as it is advised not to by skincare experts. If you’d like to read more on that, click here.
Step 3: Toner or Retinol
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
I mean we’ve all heard about this brand and how amazing value they offer. A lot of you probably already do use this toner together with their other products, I mean for the price point, their products work great. This toner mildly exfoliates your face with 7% glycolic acid which in turn visibly improves the skin’s clarity & radiance.
what’s more, the formula is free of parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, mineral oil, oxybenzone, coal tar, and sulfates SLS & SLES. It is also vegan and cruelty-free.
L’oreal Revitalift Retinol night serum
This retinol serum is made with pure retinol (0.3%) which is important because it’s what top dermatologists recommend to be most effective. It helps with lessening wrinkle visibility and helps the skin look younger and healthier. I have really noticed a difference since I started using this product, my skin just looks more lifted and happier 🙂
Step 4: Hydrate
Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel
I have talked about this brand on my Instagram quite a few times and you guys know how much I love their stuff. One of my other favorite products, along with their Hyaluronic acid, is their Vitamin C serum which I use every morning. I swear by this stuff, it’s a little bit on the pricey side, but so worth it!
Okay, so this is their hydrating gel with Hyaluronic acid. It’s perfect for every day and can be used both in the morning and at night. It adds that extra moisture leaving your skin feeling supple and smooth. It’s also alcohol, paraben, and fragrance-free – awesome!
Step 5: Hydrate some more + oil
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream
This is a new moisturizing cream that I have been using. I first tested it out with their mini size and LOVED it, I went back and got their regular size. Just like their cleanser, a little bit goes a long way and this new tub is about to last me forever. I love that!
It has no scent, it feels so silky smooth on my face and it leaves a little bit of a glow, or sheen rather, on my face. My skin looks sooo healthy with it on! I truly love this product, I am not switching back to anything else! I used to have dry spotted areas on my skin, where I used to use prescribed medicated creams to help with, but after using this moisturizer, I don’t need to use those strong, steroid creams anymore! Thank you Kiehl’s!
Okay, this is the last step, oil. I don’t really apply this every night, just the nights I feel my skin could use some extra zhuzh – you know?!
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
As I said, I don’t use this every night coz the moisturizer does an amazing job, however, sometimes, I’ll skip out on the cream and use this instead. It’s light, not too oily and there are so many benefits of using rosehip seed oil on your face, especially when it’s cold-pressed like this one.
It goes well under makeup and you can even use it with your guasha if you have one.
Well, there you have it, my 5 step nighttime skincare routine. It’s not a 12 step routine, it’s a simple and straight-to-the-point kinda routine. I believe in less is more, you know?! (especial when it comes to my face… don’t look at my closet) haha! If you want to add a lip mask to your nighttime routine, I highly recommend this one by Laneige. It’s amazing! My lips FINALLY don’t look chapped and dull! I use it every night and whenever my lips need that moisture!
But anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this and that I was able to inspire you! Let me know if you use any of these products in the comments 🙂
Thanks for reading!
